Tips and tricks are general help that everyone should know and use. The more common ones are listed below.
When you first join Neopets, it's definitely a good idea to Create A Shop. They only cost 150np to start, and everyone has that when they join.
You can always go to the Money Tree but ONLY go there if you are really poor...Otherwise it's not fair to others. There is no guarantee you will get something so you have to be really QUICK!
Play plenty of games! They make your pet happy and you can earn tons of Neopoints. If you are looking for the easier games try Cheat!, Kiko Match and Whack A Staff Member. Make sure you have the latest version of Flash otherwise some of the games may not work.
Complete quests for the Faeries, they will reward your pet somehow, and for the Snow Faerie, she rewards your pet with a snowball, rare item and nps! But beware of the Earth Faerie's quests! She asks for expensive magical items and only rewards one pet with a full belly! Jhudora's quests just may be worth it, but not for a Newbie. In the end she rewards you with VERY rare magical artifacts, but you will have to spend at least a million in order to get them in the first place. Your choice!
Tell your friends about Neopets and get them to sign up, using the referral program! You can get huge rewards including Neopoints, Paint Brushes, Codestones, NeoCoins and more!
Have a go at the "Basic Jobs" at the Faerie Employment Agency. All they require is for you to get them a certain item or play a game and get a certain score, in a given time... You can get great rewards, from 100np to 10,000np!
Instead of buying food to feed your pet with, put them in the NeoLodge. You dont need to give them extras or put them up in the best suite. While your pet is in there, it will remain happy and full, so you wont have to spend a fortune on food!
Search for bargains in the Market Place and sell them for more!! You can make a hefty profit. Ie: Some items in the magic shop cost 400np but sell for 1,000np. That's a 250 percent profit! "A good shop to go to is the Chocolate Shop! Buy any Milk Chocolate there! You can sell them for over 1,000np!" - Thanks Madcat338
Visit the Garage Sale Igloo on Terror Mountain! The chia's there often sell items for very reasonable prices. We recommend buying faeries, food and furniture from there. Just be careful with some items ie: Tombola, because they are a bit over-priced...
Trade at the Trading Post. It's an easy way of trading something you don't want, for something you want! Your trash might be someone else's treasure!
Check out Auctions for bargains you can sell at a higher price. You can also get a good price for your item there.. Just be sure not to start off your starting price too high!
Buy Scratchcards from the Kiosk. They only cost 600np for a randomly picked card. You might strike it lucky and pick out a really rare one! But if you get a normal Scratchard, you can scratch it.. and you might win thousands of nps!
If you are willing to spend the time and effort with an extra pet.. Create A Pet because then you get 50np!
Check out all the Cool Offers. For each site you sign up with you can get 250nps to 3,000np!
If you wander around Neopets alot, you might suddenly have a Random Event and find a Bag Of Neopoints On The Floor!. The average bag is around 100np, but there have rumours of people receiving over 1,000,000np!
If you haven't already claimed your Newbie pack then put all your items in your safety deposit box and you can get a free newbie pack (only once) which includes a few food items, a toy, and a book.
Buy Faeries at the Magic Shop and sell them for 3000np, that's an incredible profit you make but that's still considered cheap by the Shop Wizard!!
Enter Neopet Competitions (ones by the real Neopets Team) and you can win heaps of Neopoints and other prizes! Mystery Pic, Caption Contest and other contests like that are fun and keep you thinking! Also, the NeoLottery is a great way to win big cash!!
Poogle Racing is fun to watch and you can place a bet of your choice! Be sure to give the poogle you bet for a little food treat, it really DOES help them run faster!! :)
Join a GREAT Guild with GREAT Benefits..you know where to go!
Look for Stock Market tips and invest in the recommended ones!
Sometimes you find codestones and other goodies when you wander around the site! You can sell them too!
